Dear colleagues!
Today the IX International Scientific Congress “Philology. Social and National Variation of the Language and Literature” starts its work. The Organizing committee of the event under my immediate leadership for several months already has been doing a tremendous work the results of which you will soon be able to see. On 4th April, 2024 the plenary session will be held. On the same day and on 5th April all over the Institute of Philology of V.I.Vernadsky CFU there will be section meetings.

Also, on 4th April, 2024 there will be the important round table «About the Philologist’s Role in the Social and Political Processes in Crimea, or Sociolinguistic Facts of «The Crimean Spring»». The employees of the Institute of Philology who have a personal experience of work under the conditions of the utmost social and political activism will take part in it.
I will disclose a small secret to everybody. After the plenary session we will have the grand ceremony «Philologist, Plant Your Tree!», during which the bush Weigela florida “Alexandra” will find its place in the CFU N.V. Bagrov Botanical Gardens. The event is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Scientific School of Sociophonetics and Phonostylistics of the V.I. Vernadsky Crimean Federal University.
It should be noted that within the scientific congress there is being conducted the contest of the student scientific papers. The best works will be given grants for publication.
It is very pleasant that our congress is famous throughout зthe Russian Federation. Application forms, reports and articles have been sent by scientists from leading Russian higher education institutions in Moscow, Sankt-Peterburg, Krasnodar, Tyumen, Izhevsk, Sterlitamak, Voronezh, Yaroslavl and Ufa. Particularly I would like to greet our foreign colleagues from the Repulic of Belarus, the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of India, the Islamic Republic of Iran, which are ready to share with us the results of their scientific researches.
The scope of the working languages of the scientific congress includes Russian, Ukrainian, Crimean Tatar, English, German, French, Modern Greek, Turkish, Arabic, Persian.
Following the Congress there will be published a collection of materials, the articles of which will be uploaded in the system of the Russian Science Citation Index: Materials of the IX International Scientific Congress “Philology. Social and National Variation of the Language and Literature”. Just recently we shared good news that the long-awaited collection of materials of our last year congress had been released. It is already uploaded into the system of the Scientific Electronic Library eLIBRARY.RU at https://www.elibrary.ru/item.asp?id=60773082.
Of course, in the era of the digital technologies the scientific congress activities will be highlighted at different Internet-media.
